NEWSLETTERS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS FROM SCHOOL
A monthly newsletter will be sent home to keep you informed of school and classroom activities. Various notes and announcements will be sent home. Please check your child’s cubby and classroom bulletin boards on a regular basis.
This year we are trying a new way to communicate with parents using a professional school notification service.
Regular communications about Greenwood School and community will continue to be sent via email using the new service.
School closings and other urgent messages will be sent to parents via text as well as through email.
In the rare possibility of a school emergency, parents will receive a call and voice message.
If your child is currently a student at Greenwood and you would like to confirm your contact information, please contact Julia Gage (email@example.com).
Parents of alumni and the greater Greenwood community who would like to receive email messages about community events (including date night) are welcome to receive this information as well. If you would like your email address added to the list, please let Julia Gage (firstname.lastname@example.org) know.
There are many opportunities throughout the year for family members to volunteer in the school; some examples are driving or chaperoning on fieldtrips, reading in the classroom, cooking a special dish with a class, helping teachers plan activities, sharing a talent, making copies, binding/repairing books, joining the Board of Directors, etc. If you know that this is something you will be doing on a regular basis, we ask that you please see Laurie to receive information regarding fingerprinting.
RIGHT OF PRIVACY
Greenwood School will protect the rights of privacy of its pupils and their parents. The school maintains cumulative academic and health records for each child. Parents have access to their child’s records upon a request to the Director. The Director will provide these records which can be reviewed with the Director on the premises.
Further, when an institution requests information about a student, parents will be required to submit written permission before any information will be released.
